This policy explains how Trackr Finance uses cookies and similar technologies on our website and app, and how UK rules apply to them.
2. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit an online service. They help the service work, remember your preferences and understand how it is used. Similar technologies, such as local storage and pixels, work in comparable ways.
3. The UK rules we follow
Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), as amended by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 (in force from 5 February 2026), we must tell you about the cookies we use, and we need your consent for cookies that are not exempt. Strictly necessary cookies, certain low-risk analytics cookies used only for aggregate statistics that do not significantly affect you, and certain cookies used only to improve how our service functions, do not require consent under the updated rules. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
4. The cookies we use
- Strictly necessary — authentication and session cookies (Supabase) and security cookies (Cloudflare, including the Cloudflare Turnstile captcha used at sign-in and sign-up). Purpose: to keep you logged in and keep the service secure. Typical duration: session to 1 year. Consent: not required.
- Functional — local storage entries that remember your preferences (theme, currency, dashboard layout, trusted-device token). Purpose: to deliver the features you have chosen. Typical duration: up to 1 year. Consent: not required where used only to improve functionality.
- Consent management — Cookiebot (CookieConsent) records your cookie choices. Typical duration: up to 12 months. Consent: not required (strictly necessary to honour your preferences).
- Analytics — none. Trackr does not use third-party analytics, advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
5. Managing cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting them, although some strictly necessary cookies cannot be turned off without affecting the service. We use Cookiebot to manage your cookie choices: you can review or change your preferences at any time by opening the "Cookie settings" link in the Cookiebot banner that appears on your first visit and via the small renew-consent badge on each page.
